Kapuso actress LJ Reyes alludes to something about the heartbreaking split.
LJ REYES – In an interview with Boy Abunda, LJ Reyes carefully talks about a split with long-time partner actor Paolo Contis.
After some time of lingering online, actress LJ Reyes finally breaks her silence and admits split with Paolo Contis, her long-time partner and the father of her daughter Summer. He was also the one who, for a time, stood as a father figure to Aki, the son of the actress with actor Paulo Avelino.
In a virtual interview facing Boy Abunda, one of the persons she trusts, she carefully elaborated the split as she confirmed it. She aired her pain but people have also seen how much she tried not to say anything that would put the actor in a bad light. She has her respect for her as the father of Summer intact.
Emotional and in tears, she confessed that the past few months were the times she tried to save their relationship. She neglected her pride for him and for their family until she saw that it’s really not working anymore. He was giving them different treatment but she tried to make things work despite not receiving the same effort from him to make their relationship work.
The split, contrary to what the rumors have said, was not a mutual decision. She was the one who initiated because she can feel that he was just waiting for her to drop it and so gave in when she eventually got tired. She initiated it until he gave up as well. She shared, “Tinanong ko siya, if he wants to take us back. Pero hindi na daw.”
His indifference all started late last year. And since then, she felt like she lost the man she loved. He wasn’t the same man she entrusted her heart to. She also opened up about the things said and revealed to her coming from the people around her about him.
However, he would often dismiss such conversations about it, and to her, he’s just making up “palusot”. She was asking her about someone she was told about but he’s always dodging this. And when asked directly if, for her, there’s a third party, she responded silence purely but tearing up.
She also evaded if money issues were one of the reasons and this is just her reply: “Basta ang priority ko po ay mga welfare ng mga bata.”
Being a mother, what made her step up and put an end to the rumors was her kids. She doesn’t want them to hear false stories from other people. She wanted them not to get involve and speaking up was one way she sees to protect them. She’s a very private person but when it comes to her kids, she will accordingly definitely go out of her way to protect them.
She stated, “Sa totoo lang, kung anuman yung third party na sinasabi nila, it’s actually the least of my concerns. Kaya nga po ako nag-decide to speak up is because pag anak niyo na po yung nagagawan ng mali, I think kailangan mo sabihin na hanggang dito lang. Somehow, kailangan ko ilayo yung mga bata kasi kailangan maprotekahan sila.”
