Here’s what LJ Reyes said about her breakup with Paolo Contis
Kapuso actress LJ Reyes explained why her split with long-time partner actor Paolo Contis was not a mutual decision.
LJ has finally broken her silence after weeks of speculations about the end of her relationship with Paolo. The breakup rumors first surfaced when netizens noticed that Paolo has deleted all the photos of LJ on his Instagram account and he also unfollowed them.
However, at that time, LJ was still following Paolo and his photos were still on her IG account. After the breakup confirmation, the actress also unfollowed her former partner and deleted his photos.
In a recent interview on KIng of Talk Boy Abunda’s YouTube channel, LJ Reyes stressed that the breakup was not a mutual decision. She said that these past few months was very difficult for her as she said Paolo Contis has changed. However, every time she will confront him about it, he will just dismiss it and will avoid to talk about it.
“No, hindi siya mutual. Naniniwala ako kapag mutual isang decision, pareho kayong sumasang-ayon na hindi na nagwo-work yung relationship. Hindi po, e. Ramdam na ramdam ko naman po na ibang-iba na. Matagal ko na nararamdaman na nakahiwalay na siya sa amin. Ramdam na ramdam ko po yun,” the actress said.
LJ Reyes admitted that during their first conversation she was the one who initiated the breakup. However, days after that, they had their second conversation and she was trying to fix things between her and Paolo.
“Pero honestly, ako yung nagsabi na parang nasa ibang mundo na po siya, at parang pakiramdam ko na hinihintay lang niya na manggaling sa akin,” she shared. The breakup happened but the actress realized that this should not happen because she was thinking about her kids.
LJ, as a mother, wanted to have a complete family for her children and so setting aside her pride, she asked Paolo if he wants to take them back. “Tinanong ko siya, if he wants to take us back. Pero hindi na daw,” the mother of two said.
