“Darna” Jane De Leon will finally start taping for this much-awaited project and will soon exit FPJAP.

JANE DE LEON – After several postponements, Jane De Leon is finally going to start working for her “Darna” and this is the reason why she will leave “Ang Probinsyano” soon.

Initially, the “Darna” is set to be played by the iconic “Darna” herself Angel Locsin, however, she has to give her role because due to her spine injury. It was then offered to and accepted by Liza Soberano but an intense scene in her series Bagani has as well prompted her to give away the role and the fortunate one offered to do the latest installment of the iconic heroine is Jane De Leon.

Due to the health crisis, the taping was hampered until she joined that cast ensemble of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano“. Darna is initially a movie but it was later on decided to become a teleserye. Direk Erik Matti resigned to helm the said project and was replaced by Direk Jerrold Tarog, who also later on resigned due to scheduling conflicts.

And despite the hiccups that this project had gone through in the past years, Jane is finally flying this year as the taping is set to start soon. She will be exiting Probinsyano and the taping for her Darna will begin this September. She is now just finishing her remaining scenes for the top-rating action series where she plays Captain Lia Mante.

“Viewers can expect more action-packed scenes in ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ as Lia and Cardo embark on an important mission together,” says the statement confirming the continuity of ABS-CBN’s adaptation of the classic Filipino comics.
