Yassi Pressman will no longer be part of ‘Ang Probinsyano’
Actress Yassi Pressman will leave the long-running Kapamilya primetime series Ang Probinsyano while Darna actress Jane de Leon is set to enter.
Ang Probinsyano is one of the most well-loved shows of the Kapamilya network. Although ABS-CBN had to shut down due to its denied franchise, the series led by Coco Martin continues to air through other platforms.
Since 2016, Yassi has been playing the character of Alyana Arevalo, a TV news reporter who became the love interest of Cardo Dalisay, the character of Coco. From that, the CocoYass tandem that has its own fandom.
However, based on the article from the Philippine Entertainment Portal, Yassi Pressman will bid goodbye to the series. It is because the actress is set to do projects in her home studio, Viva Films, in 2021.
Apparently, there are several projects lining up for her to do. Her absence from the primetime series will definitely be missed and avid viewers might not get used to it easily.
Meanwhile, the character of Coco will have a new love interest in the person of Jane’s character, Police Captain Natalia Mante or Lia. During the pre-show interview of ABS-CBN Christmas special, Chinita Princess Kim Chiu introduced Jane de Leon as “Bagong leading lady ni Coco.”
The taping for Ang Probinsyano will keep Jane busy before she will start shooting for Darna series which was first pitched as a movie.
Based on the article, Jane expressed happiness for being part of the five-year-old series as for her, it is a great honor to be included in the cast.
Before Jane was named as the new Darna actress, she did supporting roles in series.
