Alden Richards embraces diversity with his new role
Kapuso Pambansang Bae Alden Richards talked about his “bida-kontrabida” role in his new series The World Between Us with Jasmine Curtis.
He is portraying the character of Louie Asuncion and this is far from the characters he portrayed in his two previous series The Gift and I Can See You: Love on the Balcony.
Based on the article in The Philippine Star, this served as a showcase of Alden’s diversity when it comes to choosing his projects and the characters he portrays. For the actor, acting is a never-ending process and it does not have a dead-end.
He stressed that there are always possibilities that he can go to and this would always bring excitement to him. Alden Richards also shared that he had to prepare in laying out the early character arcs of his character in the new Kapuso series.
Although he had apprehension at first when it comes to his role, Alden was able to love playing Louie after a collective explanation was done by the creatives for him.
He said that in his previous teleserye, he was always the “kawawa” character. “Laging napahirapan, always forgiving, always on the good side of things. This time, I’ll be playing a role na hindi lang puro good boy… That’s what I’m looking forward to, medyo gray siya… I’ve never done anything like it on TV (before),” Alden said.
However, this time, in playing Louie, he is set to show a twist in his character-playing. “Gusto kong maging malinis yung transition ng bawat stage ng buhay ni Louie and to be reasonable as well,” Alden Richards said.
