Long-Time Driver of Former Pres. Noynoy Aquino Speaks About His Death
NOYNOY AQUINO – The longtime driver of former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III shared how they found him in the morning of his death.
The death of former Pres. Noynoy Aquino shocked a lot of people. Many Filipinos are not aware that the former Chief Executive was actually in and out of the hospital even before the pandemic started. Even those people close to him did not expect that he will be gone last June 24, 2021.
The former President served the Filipinos from 2010 to 2015. He was also a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Senator. He was a lawmaker in the Senate when the people called for him to run for president in the 2010 Elections.
Last June 24, 2021, many Filipinos woke up to a shocking news that former Pres. Aquino was rushed to the hospital. After a few minutes, he was pronounced dead – something that many people did not expect to happen that day even his sisters.
The Aquino sisters were all present at the hospital to see their brother for the last time. His remains were cremated on the same day and they brought his urn home before it was brought to Ateneo de Manila University the day after.

On the day of his death, it was former Pres. Noynoy Aquino’s longtime driver, Nory Mariano, who was the first to see him and called the doctor about him. According to the Chief Executive’s longtime brother who is already a family to him, he was called by PNoy’s longtime aid, Yolly Yebes, when she found him in the same position when she left him in his room the night before.
Based on a report in PhilStar, on that day, PNoy’s driver was up early and he asked the two (2) guards outside the room of the former President if he did not buzzed them during the night. Usually, he would ask for a snack or would call them if something is physically bothering him but that night there was no buzzer.
When Yolly found PNoy in the same position when she left him the night before, she asked Nory to see the former President who was in his reclining chair. When he came near to the former President, he became more worried but in prayers. He checked on his stomach and he could not see it moving so they called the doctor and an ambulance was sent in Timestreet.
Former Pres. Aquino was rushed to Capitol Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at 6:30 in the morning of June 24, 2021. He died of renal disease secondary to diabetes. Currently, his urn will be brought his sisters again in Ateneo for the mass and services.
