Pres. Duterte Speaks on Managing COVID-19 Crisis in the Philippines
DUTERTE – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte warned the courts that he will not abide by them in handling the COVID-19 crisis in the Philippines.
Several countries across the globe are in the process of procuring COVID-19 vaccines from other nations and the manufacturers. It is in line with the pursuit to achieve a “herd immunity” against coronavirus that has already taken millions of lives.
In the Philippines, the vaccination process for population protection started with the healthcare workers. They are the frontliners in the fight against the pandemic. Many of the senior citizens and the Filipinos who have co-morbidities have also received the vaccine.
This June, the national government eyed to start the vaccination of the essential workers and the poor Filipinos. They are considered as more susceptible in getting infected with COVID-19.

Amid the COVID-19 crisis in the Philippines now, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte warned that he will not abide by the courts in handling the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Chief Executive stressed that the current situation is a public health emergency and is a national interest.
According to the Pres. Duterte, he does not want anybody from the government or the public agencies to “messing up with a situation” as it is very risky for the country. Based on the report, the Chief Executive expressed that there will be an “impasse” or a deadlock in the situation between them and he does not want to “lock horns” with the judiciary department.
Currently, community quarantine measures are still up in the whole Philippines with areas with higher COVID-19 cases being under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ). The whole Metro Manila and the provinces of Rizal, Cavite, Bulacan, and Laguna are under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) measure with restrictions now.
