Is Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Running w/ Pres. Rodrigo Duterte in 2022 Elections?

MAYOR SARA DUTERTE – The Davao City Mayor put an end to the rumors that there will be a “Duterte-Duterte” tandem in the 2022 Elections.

Currently, there are already a lot of talks about the possible bids in the 2022 Elections which is less than a year from now. The Filipino people are curious on who might take the presidential race.

One of those speculated to run for president is presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte. She’s one of those who leads the results in surveys about the possible presidential candidates in 2022.

Previously, the Davao City Mayor spoke and admitted that she does not intend to run for president in 2022. She even asked her supporters to wait for 2034.

As for Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, he is vocal that he does not want his daughter to run for the highest post in the government. According to him, he does not want his daughter to go through what presidents are going through – which he described as “all works”.

However, despite it, the rumors and calls for a “Duterte-Duterte” tandem in the 2022 Elections is only getting stronger. There are speculations that Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte will run for vice president while Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte will take the presidential bid.

Recently, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte broke her silence and put an end to the “Duterte-Duterte tandem” rumors in the 2022 Elections. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Davao City Mayor said that “it will never happen”. She also stressed that the president has already laid down his reasons why he does not want her to run for the highest post in the government.

With regards to her plan in the 2022 over the calls of her partymates to run for president, the Davao City Mayor expressed that she has already decided in January but she was asked to think about it until April 30 and then further extended until July. The Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) gave her until July to make her decision.
