JOLLIBEE HISTORY – Here are some photos of the fast-food chain’s first ever branch located in Cubao, Quezon City.
The Facebook page “Aj Tv Vlog” has shared the photos of first ever branch of Jollibee in Cubao, Quezon City. The photos are now circulating online and elicits various reactions from the netizens.
The fast-food started in 1975 as a Magnolia Ice cream parlor at Aurora boulevard Coronet Theater in Cubao. The 22-year-old Tony Tan Caktiong used their family savings to open two parlors of Magnolia sorbetes in Quezon.
The fast-food chain’s ice cream products attract a lot of customers because of their excellent quality service and huge scoops of ice creams. Tony sought the help of a consultant named Manuel Lumba for their bigger plan.
Eventually, the store has started to serve hot meals such as hamburgers to the public, which becomes a hit during that time. The humble business gains success amid the threat of international competitors including McDonald’s.

Caktiong eventually turned his store into a burger chain in 1978 and the rest becomes a part of the Philippine history.
“If you dream big and put your dreams into action, you will indefinitely make mistakes. But don’t be scared to make mistakes. Just be quick to recognize them and learn from them as fast as you can. Learn from each mistake and it will not be a waste of time.” Jollibee Corporation Founder and Chairman Tony Tan Caktiong said.
