Miss Canada breaks her silence on the issue with Michael Cinco
Following the rant of Filipino fashion designer Michael Cinco due to the “sabotage” allegations against him, Miss Canada Nova Stevens released a statement.
Cinco cried foul when the Miss Universe Canada organizers accused him of sabotaging their candidate’s wardrobe for the 69th edition of the most prestigious international beauty pageant.
The Dubai-based designer defended himself and his team against the allegation and stressed that they did everything they could for Canada’s representative.
This issue became a trending topic on social media as many netizens defended the fashion designer from Samar against the negative statement from the camp of Nova Stevens.
After Cinco’s rant to defend his reputation, Stevens has spoken about the issue through her social media post. She stressed that she has nothing towards the Pinoy designer but love and gratitude.
Stevens also said that working with Cinco is a great experience for her and she called this opportunity as the highlight of her career as Miss Universe Canada.
“That gratitude will not diminish no matter what. I’ve expressed that gratitude publicly and privately,” she added. Miss Canada also urged Michael Cinco and the head of Miss Universe Canada to stop fighting online and just settle this issue in private.
This statement coming from Stevens regarding the issue that was started by people who handled her did not sit well with many netizens. In the Instagram repost of @teamfilipinass_ several netizens fired back at the Canada’s representative.
Some said that they are not buying this expression of “gratitude” from Stevens while there were those who pointed out that she should have addressed the issue and not just thank the Pinoy designer who gave her wardrobe and organized a photoshoot for her for free.
