SENATOR BONG GO – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte said that Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go told him he wants to be president.

Several people rose to prominence as former Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte sat as President of the Republic of the Philippines. One of these individuals aside from his family is his long-time aide, Christopher “Bong” Go.

It is very rare to see the President without Go in an event or occasion – even after he won a senatorial post. A lot of people who want to seek the help of the government and get their concerns to the Office of the President also reach out to him.

Recently, Pres. Duterte attended an inauguration of a port building in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental. He was with Sen. Go in the said event. They took a plane ride going to the province.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, during his speech, Pres. Duterte claimed that when they were getting off the plane, the Senator asked him a favor. It was about the 2022 Elections which is set to hold political races for national posts.

According to Pres. Duterte, Senator Bong Go said that it is still far but he wants the President to be the one to tell the people. Based on the report, the Chief Executive said that the lawmaker wants to be a president.

It sparked laughter and applause at the event. Senator Bong Go waved his right hand to the people. The said remark came amid the PDP-Laban urging Pres. Duterte to run as vice president in the 2022 Elections.

The ruling party believes that it is better if Pres. Duterte will be the VP in the next term for the continuity of what he has started. His party mates specified the recovery efforts from the COVID-19 pandemic.
