DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte visited the tomb of his parents in Davao City with his partner, Honeylet Avanceña, and Senator Bong Go.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought a lot of changes in the Philippines. It has caused businesses even those that stood in the industry for years to close and a lot of employees to lose their jobs amid the crisis.

Classes were not able to start rolling in time due to the pandemic. Also, educational institutions had to device other modes for students to be able to continue with their education without face-to-face interaction.

Social gatherings are still prohibited until now. In fact, all cemeteries will be closed during Undas 2020 – starting from October 29 to November 4.

Filipinos usually flock in cemeteries during the All Soul’s Day and the All Saint’s Day as they commemorate their loved ones. Many families even bring food to eat in cemeteries.

However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic now, the cemeteries will be closed. Even President Rodrigo Roa Duterte had to visit his parents’ tomb earlier. Based on a report on Inquirer, he visited his parents’ grave in Davao City with his partner, Honeylet Avanceña, and Senator Bong Go.

The President was spotted holding a portrait of his parents, Vicente and Soledad Duterte, at the Roman Catholic Public Cemetery. They arrived at the memorial park at around 6:00 p.m. yesterday.

The Chief Executive never fail to visit the tomb of his parents most especially during significant events. He was spotted crying before their graves asking for their guidance when he was leading the counting of votes following the 2016 national elections.
