Gretchen Barretto was considered a suspect as well after she was identified by the witness. But through her counsel, she denied the allegations. Ang filed multiple criminal complaints, including slander, against his former trusted employee.

In a previous article, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) offered its technical expertise to solve the case. The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) also had the same offer earlier, and prior to these, the Philippines also asked the help of Japan to search for the human remains in the lake.

The witness and the 15 police officers being investigated for their possible involvement in the case are now under the custody of the PNP.

Recently, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla shared that the search will start this week. The Philippine Coast Guard and among other government agencies will be asked for their technical help after the witness has claimed that the killed sabungeros were buried in the lake.

They fill first map it out and observe the conditions to plan on how to go about it. The DOST previously expressed that the remains, such as human bones, can possibly be recovered if the witness is telling the truth.

The justice secretary agreed to PNP chief General Nicolas Torre III’s statement that the missing individuals were also buried in other areas. He said, “It’s possible, anything is possible but we think that the clues that we got regarding the site are very very, maybe accurate in many ways.”

Aside from the police officers, the actress, and the businessman, an ex-judge was also tagged in the case.
