This circumstance might push Sara Duterte to seek the presidency
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte gave this condition regarding her possible move of running for President in the 2022 elections.
The presidential daughter has been one of the popular political personalities who has been perceived to take the highest government position following her father President Rodrigo Duterte.
Presidential preference surveys showed that many Filipinos prefer her to run. However, in a previous report, the Chief Executive himself said that his daughter will not run for president.
In a recent report, the Davao City Mayor addressed a statement to her supporters who have been persuading her to run for president. She told them to wait until 2034.
However, a report from GMA News Online stated that Sara Duterte will run in the next election this condition will happen. She said that if the opposition will support her candidacy and help her win, then, she would run in 2022.
“Ang isang Pangulo may anim na taon lang para tumulong, di ko magagawa maayos ang trabaho kung hindi tayo magkaisa,” the presidential daughter said.
She also stressed that in order to address the problem of poverty in the Philippines, everyone should join hands rather than spend a term of the president fighting against various issues due to political differences.
Sara Duterte expressed appreciation to those who have been showing support for her. “I understand where they are coming from, I too am anxious where we are going as a nation. I am always grateful that I have their trust and confidence,” she said to those urging her to run for president in 2022.
