Gov’t Staff Nabbed In Calbiga Town For Unlicensed Gun, Ammo, Explosive
CALBIGA TOWN – A government employee was recently arrested in an entrapment operation in Calbiga town, Samar on Wednesday, February 10.
He was arrested for allegedly keeping an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, and explosive, according to Inquirer.
The employee, identified as Amador Cardeño, aged 29 years, was arrested by the combined forces of the Samar provincial unit of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), and the local police of Sta. Rita, Samar
Retrieved from the suspect were a 357 Smith and Wesson magnum, three pieces of live ammunition for a caliber-357 gun; and a hand grenade.
Based on the report, Cardeño is detained at the Sta. Rita police station and will be facing charges for illegal possession of firearms.
In another news, a village chief was nabbed by authorities after he yielded firearms and bullets during a search in Baggao town, Cagayan.

The local police there conducted a search in the residence of the said suspect based on a warrant that was issued by Judge Sheila Gacutan-Labuguen of the Municipal Trial Court in the said town.
Recovered from the suspect were a mortar, various guns and ammunition, and assorted communist documents from the suspect’s residence.
The suspect, known to allegedly harboring communists visiting the village, will be charged with illegal possession of explosives and firearms.
