Here are the people who will be the MMFF 2020 judges
The names of the MMFF 2020 judges were finally announced days before the ‘Gabi ng Parangal’ will take place on December 27.
Every year, from 46 years ago, it has been the tradition of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to conduct the Metro Manila Film Festival. However, this year’s edition is much different from what has done in past years.
Based on the article from PEP, the showing of the movies is not only the virtual thing that will be done. It is because even the Parade of Stars will also be done online on December 23 as well as the awards night.
This year, in choosing for movies that deserve recognition, the MMFF Execom, led by chief Danilo Lim, along with prominent people will join hands in this job.
The MMFF 2020 judges or jury is headed by Cabinet Secretary Karlo Alexi Nograles and MTRCB chief Rachel Arenas is the vice-chair. Also joining the jury are Ormoc Mayor Richard Gomez, filmmaker Carlitos Siguion-Reyna, novelist Lualhati Bautista, singer-songwriter Jay Durias, and CNN senior anchor Rico Hizon.

Aside from them, Directors Guild of the Philippines president Paolo Villaluna, Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino president Gary Devilles, MMDA assistant general manager Corazon Bautista-Cruz, and MMDA consultant Belinda Enriquez will also work as judges for this year’s film festival.
Based on the article, it is unsure yet if Direk Carlitos Siguion-Reyna will inhibit this year. It is because his wife Bibeth Orteza is part of the movie Magikland under Brightlights Production of Albee Benitez.
Meanwhile, rumor has it that next year, Quezon City is set to host three film festivals – 1st Summer MMFF (Abril 11-21), 8th QCinema sa Oktubre, and the next MMFF.
