Mass Goers Must Follow Health Protocols During Simbang Gabi, Church Leaders Say

The Church leaders instruct the Catholic devotees to follow the health protocols during Simbang Gabi amid COVID-19 pandemic.

Archdiocesan Shrine of Santo Niño-Tondo in Manila advised the individuals who were planning to attend the traditional nine-day Simbang Gabi to observe the safety protocols in Churches.

“We appeal to everyone to respect and follow the safety health protocols being implemented for churchgoers,” Archdiocesan Shrine said.

Simbang Gabi attendees are reminded to wear face masks and face shields inside the Church during dawn masses. Mass-goers should also bring alcohol, ballpen, and let their body temperature checked.

The Tondo church also announced that only those 18 to 65 years old are allowed to attend the mass. The physical distancing measures must be also observed inside the Church during the masses.

“The Santo Domingo Church will open the Church to the public but we must keep in mind that there is still the threat of COVID-19. Thus, in compliance with the requirements of the Inter-Agency Task Force and the Diocese of Cubao, there will be guidelines and protocols which will be followed,” Santo Domingo Church in Quezon City said.
