Here’s what Direk Lore Reyes said about Robin Padilla
Direk Lore Reyes reacted to the statement of action movie star Robin Padilla regarding the system of how the entries for the Metro Manila Film Festival 2020 were chosen.
The said director is the executive producer of the entry Magikland under the Brightlight Productions of former congressman Albee Benitez. In a previous report, the production company owner revealed that their budget has exceeded a hundred million pesos.
He added that their main goal is to showcase the culture of Pinoys and the monetary aspect is just a second priority. As being part of a movie that is an official entry for MMFF 2020, direk Lore Reyes was asked to react to the initial negative comment of Robin Padilla, based on the article from PEP.
“Ahhm, ang reaction ko lang diyan… Sana, kung nanggagaling sa bunganga ng taong nakagawa ng matinong pelikula, maniniwala ako,” the filmmaker said. “Not from Robin Padilla, excuse me!” he added.
However, since PEP stressed that Robin has already released a statement expressing his support after President Rodrigo Duterte released a statement supporting this year’s film festival.
The action movie star said, “Kapag nagsalita na ang Pinakapinuno ng mga pinuno ibig sabihin yun na ang mangyayari at magaganap. Katulad ng salmo ng Pangulo! Mabuhay ang Pelikulang Pilipino! Mabuhay ang talentong Pilipino.”
With this, Direk Lore Reyes said that he is appreciating the support that Robin Padilla has shown.
“Ahmm… of course, I welcome Robin’s support, ‘no? Maraming salamat, Robinhood, ano… na sinusuportahan mo iyong Metro Manila Film Fest. Ano naman ako, e, nagre-react lang ako sa… doon na lang, period na, baka kung ano pa ang masabi ko,” the director said.
