Robin Padilla Dismayed by MMFF Screening Committee Over Their Official Line-up
Action star Robin Padilla was dismayed by the screening committee of Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) over their official movie line-up.
The former action star Robin Padilla has expressed his thoughts on the films selected for the 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival. He reacts to the system used by the MMFF Screening Committee in reviewing and selecting the official entries in the annual Filmfest held every Christmas day.
On his Instagram account, Binoe posted a teaser of a docu-movie titled “Memoirs of a Rebel” in commemoration of the birthday of Filipino hero Andres Bonifacio. This includes his long message for the people behind the MMFF.
It seems that the said documentary is one of those who have not been selected for the 2020 film festival. This is Robin’s deep source of his disappointment.

He asked If only these screening committees would have listened and truly had respect for our national artist to open the minds of the people to the true face of life, not to the masks that are pressed into their minds by the Entrepreneurs within the Filipino film.
“Mga kababayan hindi lahat ng nasa pelikula ay Kita sa takilya ang habol! katulad ng pangmumulat ng national artist na si kidlat tahimik,” he wrote.
“May mga film makers tayo na nabubuhay lamang sa pag ibig sa Bayan at pagmamahal sa kapwa tao at Pilipino,” he added.
He also said that he is disappointed to the people who are in the film industry. Because they are still holding back the power of the film to reveal the truth and the lie.
“Napakasakit isipin kung sino pa ang mga nasa pelikula sila pa ang pumipigil sa kapangyarihan ng pelikula na makapaghayag ng katotohanan at ng kasinungalingan. We have lost our ways my dear brothers and sisters in the screening committee. Show business is not all about your shows and your businesses.”
“New normal na! Pati ang showing ng mga pelikula niyo sa MMFF pero ang style niyo old normal pa rin,” he remarks.
