ANGELICA JANE YAP – “Pastillas Girl” Angelica Jane Yap defends her boyfriend Flow G following plagiarism controversy for allegedly copying the sound of a BTS song.

Filipino rappers Skusta Clee and Flow G under fire after releasing a song for a clothing line. Philippines’ ARMYs called them out on social media as they have allegedly created a song that sounds similarly to BTS’ “Ddaeng”. BTS’ fanbase ARMY surely go to great lengths to protects their idols.

“Ddaeng” is a 2018 hip-hop diss track by South Korean band BTS performed by members RM, Suga, and J-hope as part of the band’s anniversary celebration. And the recent single from the Filipino rappers has a title “Deym- 90’s Gang” which sounds similar with the title of the Korean band’s song.

The ARMYs are convinced that it was heavily plagiarized. Aside from the similar sound of the title, the song also had a similar vibe and beat which made the fans more furious. They posted the two songs left and right on social media to point out the similarities and also encouraged the other fans to report it to BTS’s label, BigHit Entertainment.

There were screenshots where Skusta posted that they did not copy the song and jokingly added that they just borrowed the beat and the vibe.

The girlfriend of Flow G, famous vlogger Angelica Jane Yap who is also known as Pastillas Girl also broke her silence about it and defended her boyfriend. Accordingly, he lost a million-peso deal but she firmly stand that the group started from scratch when they created the music. They never heard of the song “Ddaeng” until they were accused of copying it.

Meanwhile, this is not the first they were accused of plagiarism. Before, their hit song “Hayaan Mo Sila” was allegedly copied from the beats of Diamond Style’s “One Kiss” and was accordingly taken down on Youtube due to copyright issue. But the Ex Batallion group insisted that nothing was stolen and it was paid.
