Andi Eigenmann shares her honest thoughts.
Vlogger-actress Andi Eigenmann shares life updates about raising her teenager, Ellie, with actor Jake Ejercito.
Ellie is the daughter of Siargao-based vlogger Andi Eigenmann and actor Jake Ejercito. Although the circumstances surrounding her birth once drew public attention, the two have since built a healthy co-parenting relationship. While they may not be a conventional family, Andi and Jake have maintained a peaceful and drama-free partnership, always putting Ellie’s well-being first.
Recently, Andi opened up about their journey as co-parents, raising a teenager.
In Karen Davila’s latest YouTube vlog, Andi shared that she and Jake have maintained a healthy and harmonious co-parenting relationship over the years. While they may not be as publicly visible as some co-parents on social media, they have built a peaceful and respectful arrangement that works well for everyone, especially for their daughter, Ellie.
“We’re okay. We’re not really like other parents or co-parents that you see our relationship on social media, but we really have a good co-parenting relationship, I would say. And I am so grateful to have him as my partner in raising Ellie,” she said.
However, as Ellie is now a teenager, she admitted that they have faced a challenging stage.
With her daughter turning 15 this year and preparing for Grade 9, she said they are facing a new set of parenting challenges that many parents of teenagers can relate to. According to Andi, this phase has made it even more essential for her and Jake to remain aligned and work together in making decisions for their daughter.
As for their relationship, forgiveness and peace between them became easier to attain because of their love for their daughter. It comes from their desire for how they want to be as parents.
Although she and Jake did not end up together as a couple, their commitment to being present and supportive parents for Ellie remains unchanged. She shared that they continue to support each other in raising their daughter, even if they do not always openly discuss it.
She expressed, “Sadly, we didn’t end up together but it doesn’t mean that the willingness to want to be that parent to Ellie [isn’t] still there. It is still there, so we support each other in that way I guess even though we don’t talk about it.”
