2-Month-Old Baby in Negros Occidental Youngest COVID-19 Survivor in Western Visayas

BABY IN NEGROS OCCIDENTAL – A two-month-old baby became the youngest survivor of COVID-19 in Western Visayas region.

More than 200 nations and territories across the globe are affected by the 2019 coronavirus or the COVID-19. One of these countries battling against the pandemic is the Philippines.

In PH, the Department of Health (DOH) has recorded a total of 63,001 coronavirus cases with 1,660 deaths and 21,748 recoveries. Community quarantine measures are still up now.

Also, the wearing of face mask became a protocol and as well as social distancing. Even the public vehicles are under a reduced capacity now to practice social distancing.

COVID-19 is known to bear flu-like symptoms. A patient may experience fever, breathing difficulties, and cough. However, a person may also show no symptoms at all but still be positive for the disease.

The senior citizens and those individuals with pre-existing health conditions are known to be more susceptible to this coronavirus disease. However, many cases proved that it exempts no one.

In Western Visayas, one of the COVID-19 patients is a two-month-old baby in Negros Occidental. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the infant has recovered from the disease and is the youngest patient survivor in the region.

The said baby in Negros Occidental is from Moises Padilla. According to the report, the swab samples of the mother and the infant were taken at the provincial healing center in the municipality of EB Magalona. They both tested negative for the disease so they were sent home.

Also one of the youngest COVID-19 patients in the province is a seven-year-old male child. The boy is from Sagay City and is a son of a frontliner. They have visited Bacolod City and underwent coronavirus testing when they got back to Sagay.

The mother of the child tested negative for COVID-19 while he is positive for the disease. They are currently under a 14-day home quarantine.
