ABS-CBN Network “Voluntarily” Shut Down? Marcoleta Lambasted

Rodante Marcoleta lambasted online for saying ABS-CBN network has shut down “voluntarily”.

ABS-CBN NETWORK – House Deputy Speaker Rodante Marcoleta said that ABS-CBN network has voluntarily shut down during recent hearing.

No one forced ABS-CBN to shut down; the network closed ‘voluntarily.’

This is what House Deputy Speaker Rodante Marcoleta has remarked during ABS-CBN franchise renewal hearing. Accordingly, the Kapamilya network has volunteered to go off air to which draw confusion from the people.

To recall, based on a previous article, cease and desist order from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) released last May 5 was the core reason as to why the biggest media network in the country stopped airing. This is amid their expectations that they will be given a provisional permit to continue to operate despite franchise expiration on May 4.

It is because of the CDO from the NTC that have made them stop from broadcasting. The network, actually, since it went off air, plead for the government to bring them back on air especially now that the country is amid the battle versus an unseen enemy, the pandemic coronavirus disease.

And now, in June 1 hearing regarding all the issues of the network which hampers their franchise renewal, Marcoleta, aside from saying that the network volunteered to shut down, added “ABS-CBN should have challenged NTC’s cease & desist order in court.”

And here are some of the comments of the netizens from Twitter:

Marcoleta is not only bald, he’s afflicted with reading and comprehension problems.
