Here’s another story from a former ABS-CBN cameraman who is now a lighting director.
ABS-CBN CAMERAMAN – Rommel Jacinto, former cameraman of ABS-CBN, has this story about the network amid all their franchise issues.
After 25 years, the legislative franchise of ABS-CBN has expired which prompted the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to release cease and desist order last May 5. This resulted for the biggest media network in the country to shut down that day as well.
And now, as they fight for the renewal of their franchise facing alleged tax evasion, unfair labor practice, and foreign ownership violations issues, the network continues to fight. Amid the issues, Rommel Jacinto, a former cameraman, has another story about the network.
Accordingly, he is now a lighting the director and the network was the one who gave him the opportunity to be in that position. He was asked before by Tata Oca Landerito what he wanted aside from being a cameraman and he indicated to be a director, to which is now happening to him. He is now a lighting director.
“Dahil ang ABS-CBN ay HINDI madamot. Ibibigay nya sa ‘yo lahat ng oportunidad upang umangat. Ganyan magmahal at magmalasakit ang kumpanya sa kanyang mga empleyado,” he said. And even up until now, the company has never left them and continued to help them amid this pandemic and despite of being off air.
The Kapamilya network accordingly did supported them and he is among the persons hoping for network to return on air and broadcast again.
