Truck Driver & Passengers Apprehended by Traffic Cop Over Alleged Social Distancing Violation
A traffic enforcer issued a violation ticket towards a truck driver and its passengers over alleged violation of the social distancing rule.
The truck driver identified as Fredie Blas has been apprehended by a traffic enforcer for allegedly violating the physical distancing measure. He was apprehended at a checkpoint in Bacoor while delivering 3 tons of frozen chickens.
Blas explained that he thought that three people are allowed inside the truck during the delivery of essential goods. He also said that he and his colleagues are wearing face masks to avoid being exposed to the virus.
The driver failed to redeem his driver’s license for earning a small amount of cash due to the community quarantine.
Traffic Operation Officer 3 Adel Udarbe of Bacoor Traffic Management Department explained that they are strictly implementing the enhanced community quarantine during that time and Blas allegedly failed to obey the safety protocols.
Udarbe said that the driver could place one of its passengers at the back to comply with the quarantine guidelines. He also explained that the penalty in Cavite is P1,500 for social distancing violation.
