Arnell Ignacio starts legal battle against Mystica
Actor/government official Arnell Ignacio filed complaints against former singer-actress Mystica for cursing against President Rodrigo Duterte.
To recall, amid the enhanced community quarantine, Mystica released a video as she cursed the Chief Executive. After the bashing that she received, she apologized.
In with this, on May 22, Arnell, a known supporter of the administration, went to Imus City Prosecutor’s Office in Cavite to formally file complaints against the former singer.
Mystica will be facing the inciting to sedition, cyber libel, at violation sa Bayanihan To Heal As One Act charges against her, based on the article from PEP. Arnell based his complaints on the video of Mystica.
In his Facebook post, the actor/government official stated:
“Kapag seryoso ang issue e file na ako ng case. Hindi talakan lang sa FB. Hindi mo puede mura-murahin si presidente nang ganun-ganun lang at aatungal ka pagkatapos. Mas malala, nagyaya ka pa na pabagsakin ang gobyerno imbis na tumulong ka na lang. Yung pagmumura mo naman e parang PERSONAL ang kasalanan sa iyo, e. Kahit man lang sana sa edad nung tao e binigay mo na kahit katiting na paggalang.”
Talking to PEP columnist Gorgy Rula, Arnell Ignacio said that he has long been planning to file charges against Mystica. However, he had to wait until the ECQ status was lifted. “Hindi lang nila alam kung gaano kahirap ang ginagawa ngayon ng mga nasa gobyerno, tapos guguluhin niyo pa?” he said.
Arnell also said that it appeared that the reason of Mystica’s rant on social media was because of her desire to attract more likes and followers.
On the other hand, columnist Noel Ferrer stated in the article that Arnell Ignacio should explain his reason for filing charges against Mystica because the President is also cursing.
