Update on DOH Coronavirus Records in the Philippines
DOH – The Department of Health released the coronavirus records in the Philippines as of today, May 12, 2020.
The COVID-19, a coronavirus that was first recorded in China, is posing a huge challenge to the world now. More than 200 countries across the globe recorded cases of the disease.
One of these nations is the Philippines. Previously, the entire Luzon and most provinces in Visayas and Mindanao were under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). Everyone’s encouraged to stay at home.
Starting May 1, several areas under the ECQ downgraded the measure to ECQ. These are low and medium risk areas as per the assessment of the National Inter-Agency Task Force against COVID-19.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte approved the recommendation of the national IATF. Areas considered as high risk for coronavirus remained under the ECQ.
Every day, the Department of Health (DOH) releases an update regarding the coronavirus cases in the Philippines. Today, May 12, the health department recorded 264 new cases of COVID-19 in the country. It brings the total to 11,350 now.
With regards to the death toll, it is now at 751 after 25 new deaths due to coronavirus were recorded. 107 new recoveries were recorded by the health department bringing the total recoveries to 2,106.
