Wheelchaired Dialysis Patient Who Went Viral Received Lots of Donations
Wheelchaired dialysis patient who was pushed for 6km to get to dialysis center goes viral and received lots of donations from generous people.
Previously, Loida Fernandez, couldn’t walk properly anymore due to her condition. As a result, they had to use a wheelchair for her to bring her to the dialysis center in Fairview.
Meanwhile, due to the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon, public transportation is banned, her husband has to push her wheelchair for 6 Km from their house in Batasan Hills all the way to the dialysis center in Fairview.Â
After their story has gone viral on social media and got featured in a news lots of generous people immediately reached out their help for her treatment. Mother Loida’s request to be granted a new wheelchair was first fulfilled by data analyst Arden Enriquez.
According to Enriquez, he gave the couple the extra wheelchair his brother used to have cerebral palsy. He said “Why not share ‘yong blessing kasi, kailangan na kailangan ni nanay. Sana gumaling agad [siya] at makatulong ‘yong wheelchair.”
In addition to the wheelchair, they also receive as they have difficulties of obtaining supplies because they are separated from their children and are now unable to go through due to the enhanced quarantine community.
Meanwhile, a private citizen also offered free rides and said they would be the ones who would take Loida if no one was assisting from the barangay. The couple was very grateful after they received the help came from their netizens.
