Western Visayas Recorded No New COVID-19 Cases For Two Days
WESTERN VISAYAS – DOH6 recorded no new positive cases of coronavirus disease 2019 in the Western Visayas region for two days in a row.

A report from Panay News states that all three laboratory tests conducted by the Western Visayas Medical Center sub-national laboratory came out negative for the virus, as released on April 13.
Among the 40 positive cases were 12 confined in hospitals, 14 on home quarantine, seven recoveries, and seven fatalities. There are about 853 more suspected cases in the region, as of April 13.
As per the report, there are now more than 5,000 positive COVID-19 cases in the country. The health department recorded at about 291 new cases as of Tuesday afternoon, summing up to 5, 223 cases.
Death toll rose to 335, with the addition of 20 fatalities recorded by the department. In the case of recoveries, there are now 53 patients recovered, bringing it to 295.
Common symptoms of the coronavirus disease 2019 are fever, tiredness, and dry cough. There are cases where some receive aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat or diarrhea.
There are also others who are asymptomatic and do not fell unwell.
Transmission of the disease can spread from individual to individual via small droplets coming from the nose or mouth from the infected which can spread through coughing or even exhaling.
The said droplets can also land on objects and surfaces around the person, which can make them infected by touching these objects or surfaces, then touch their eyes, nose or mouth.
