Here’s what Lani Mercado has to say over her viral “COVID-14” video.
LANI MERCADO – Actress turned politician Lani Mercado said this after her controversial statement “COVID-14” instead of COVID-19 went viral online.
Previously, former actress Lani Mercado went viral after she mistakenly called COVID-19 into “COVID-14”. COVID-19, as much as we are all aware of, is the short term of Coronavirus Disease 2019 – the name of the disease from a new strain of coronavirus which attacks the respiratory system and was first recorded in Wuhan.
This is now pandemic and the rise of the confirmed cases globally is definitely alarming already as it is now approaching the 2 million mark. This disease hasalso claimed a lot of lives already. Lockdowns were also declared in many parts of the world in order to contain the spread of the virus.
Mercado, on her video, was sharing her words about the situation of Bacoor amid the crisis when the mistake happened. Her message was supposed to be inspiring but not until she uttered COVID-14.
And now, several days after she did it, she laughed off her little mistake. She said, “Sa mga natuwa sa aking pagkakamali… Labanan ang COVID-14. Sorry po. Talagang wala na, ang dami pong iniisip. Sorry po sa mga nagalit.”

To ease out the controversy brought about by her mistake, she clarified that she makes mistake. She and her husband Senator Bong Revilla just laughed off her COVID-14 and were not affected as at all. They are more concern to what help they can do to other people amid the quarantine.
