JUST IN: Enhanced Community Quarantine On Negros Occidental Starting March 30
JUST IN: ENHANCED COMMUNITY QUARANTINE – Governor Bong Lacson signed an Executive Order which will place Negros Occidental under an enhanced community quarantine.
The Philippines had seen an increasing trend in the number of COVID-19 cases. As such President Rodrigo Duterte placed Luzon under an enhanced community quarantine.
With this, public transportation will be suspended along with the closure of non-essential establishments. Only essential businesses like pharmacies and grocery stores will be open.
In addition, the President was given emergency powers to address the coronavirus crisis in the country.
According to a post published by the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, the duration of the quarantine would begin at 12:01 AM on March 30, 2020, and would take effect till 11:59 of April 14, 2020.
Meanwhile, the number of infected from the coronavirus had reached 471,044 worldwide. In addition, there have been 21,284 fatalities with 114,228 people recovering from the virus.
As such, with the current rising trend of the virus, experts said that it has yet reached its peak and would continue to rise in the following days.
