Netizens commented “sana all” to the efforts that Mayor Vico Sotto is doing in Pasig City amid COVID-19 threat

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto did these various efforts to fight against COVID-19 and netizens, especially those living in other cities commented “sana all”.

Following the implementation of enhanced community quarantine in the whole Luzon, local government officials started to work vigorously to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus in their cities. However, the Pasig City Mayor particularly caught the attention of many netizens.

The name of Vico Sotto, as well as the Pasig, are among the top trending trends on Twitter on Wednesday. It is because netizens are overwhelmed by the efforts that Mayor Vico is doing in Pasig and for his constituents.

When the community quarantine in Metro Manila was implemented on March 15, Pasig City already prepared the following:

  • 10 pax disinfecting kits w knapsack sprayer and full PPEs
  • 500 pcs gloves
  • 108 bottles of alcohol (500mL) –
  • 7 infrared thermometer guns

Following this, the city council passed the Anti-Panic Buying and Hoarding Ordinance in order to control the consumers in buying necessities. The Mayor shared this on his March 17 tweet: “The city has turned over around 1,000 disinfecting equipment & supplies to our barangay govts, public & private schools, fire volunteers, and a few other groups.”

Aside from these, Vico also shared that the city is providing bus service for essential personnel such as health workers. Moreover, there is a Sanitation Tent set up outside the city hall, PCGH, at Child’s Hope. The Mayor related that some private establishments lend spaced in order for frontliners to have a place to rest.

A previous report also stated that city hall employees will get their full salaries, whether a regular or contractual, amid the enhanced community quarantine.

On March 18, Mayor Vico Sotto shared the “Purchase Request para sa 400,000 food packs.” Another thing that the city is set to purchase is disinfectant drones (three units, each cost P1 million, based on Esquire Magazine).
