Pasig City employees will receive their full salaries amid COVID-19 community quarantine

Pasig City employees will get full salaries during the Luzon-wide community quarantine amid the threat caused by the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Mayor Vico Sotto said that government employees would get their full salaries whether they are whether regular or contractual as work suspension is implemented amid the quarantine.

Moreover, the mayor said on his Facebook post that frontline workers will also get hazard pay and overtime pay and other benefits. “‘Wag kayong mag-alala, tuloy-tuloy kayong makakatanggap ng buong sweldo — kahit ‘yung mga job order na “no work no pay. Gagawan natin ng paraan. Basta, mag-ingat, at hangga’t maaari sa bahay lang muna kayo,” he said.

During the press conference of President Rodrigo Duterte regarding the enhanced community quarantine, he urges employers to give the 13th month pay of employees. This aims to compensate the workers within a month of work suspension in order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

In line with this, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) released a statement encouraging big companies to follow what the President stated during his press conference.

The Belo Medical Group, headed by beauty doctor Vicki Belo, already expressed that they will give the compensations to their employees. This is aside from their initiative to donate their remaining PPEs or personal protective equipment to health workers who are risking their lives for others.
