Patient in Quezon City Tests Positive for Coronavirus

PATIENT IN QUEZON CITY – A patient in QC tested positive for the 2019 novel coronavirus as confirmed by Mayor Joy Belmonte.

Recently, the Department of Health (DOH) reported 16 new confirmed coronavirus cases in the Philippines. The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country now is at 49.

According to the health department, most of the patients are admitted in hospitals in Metro Manila. Two (2) of them were previously reported to be in critical condition.

Recently, the DOH confirmed reports about the 2nd coronavirus death in the Philippines. The said coronavirus patient who died was admitted in Manila.

Several local government units (LGUs) have announced the confirmed cases of coronavirus in their areas. Mayors of the different municipalities and cities took the lead.

Recently, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte confirmed that a patient in Quezon City tested positive for coronavirus. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the said patient is the 5th case in the city.

It is not yet clear whether or not the said patient is included in the 49 cases reported by the DOH. Based on the report, Mayor Belmonte revealed that the patient is a 26-year-old male and a resident of Barangay West Crame.

According to Mayor Belmonte, the patient was initially diagnosed with dengue. He has not taken any recent travel abroad.

Speaking to DZMM, the Mayor expressed that the patient’s mother said that her other children are also starting to have cough. His family will be tested for COVID-19.
