CORONAVIRUS – The number of people with suspected cases of the novel coronavirus in the Philippines has climbed to 14.

The health authorities continue to monitor the patients who show symptoms of the novel coronavirus. The number of Persons Under Investigation (PUI) for possible NCoV infection increased.

One out of three PUIs in Cebu City has been already discharged while other patients are being monitored at El Nido in Palawan, Mambajao in Camiguin, and Tacloban City in Leyte.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said that the incident should not cause alarm to the public because the Department of Health frequently displays the location of PUIs. Duque reported that there are still no nCoV cases in the Philippines.

“There shouldn’t be any cause for alarm. Just because we flash the areas where the PUIs come from, doesn’t mean those areas are infected with novel coronavirus because there is none,” Duque said.
