Kapamilya actress Ivana Alawi was slammed by comedian Kuya Jobert Austria for her iPhone giveaway allegedly promoting gambling.
Ivana’s social media post about a video featuring her shopping for 100 iPhone 17 went viral. The actress announced that she would give these cellphone units to her 100 lucky subscribers.
Many netizens wanted to join this promo, with the hope that they would be one of the lucky winners.
However, netizens also pointed out that Ivana Alawi’s giveaway stint was a way of promoting gambling. In the comment section of her post, the actress told her followers to follow her CP family, or Casino Plus, which is a regulated online casino game.
The actress received criticism because of this, even though there were a lot of netizens who joined her giveaway.
One of the people who criticized the sultry actress was Kuya Jobert Austria. In his Facebook page, he shared a post from a netizen who expressed dismay over Ivana’s content.
“Seeing the 100 iPhone giveaway used to promote online gambling was heartbreaking,” netizen April Cortes Titong wrote. The netizen also shared that all she could think of was the thousands of Filipinos who might be encouraged to gamble because someone they look up to was promoting it.
Kuya Jobert echoed the netizen’s statement. “Namimigay ka nga inengganyo mo naman sila magsugal. Kulang pa ba yung blessing na meron kayo?” he wrote.
Many netizens agreed with the comedian’s statement on Ivana Alawi and her recent viral content.
Meanwhile, last month, Ivana’s social media post also caught the attention of the online community. It was because she shared her thoughts on women’s clothing. She stressed that respect should be given to women regardless of what they were wearing.
