LEA SALONGA – Lea Salonga thanked U2 for featuring her as among the women’s icon during their concert at the Philippine Arena.

The Irish Rockband U2 visited the Philippines for their “Joshua Tree Tour.” Their concert was held at the Philippine Arena. Days before their show, frontman Bono and the rest of the band were spotted dining at famous restaurants on Makati.

He also led the launching of the first-ever blood delivery service in the Philippines. He’s the board member of the drone service Zipline that team up with the Philippine Red Cross. Actress Angel Locsin went to the event to show support to the vocalists’ advocacy.

During their concert, they asked the concertgoers to pray for the volunteers, activists, and journalists. “Also in our prayers, let’s keep the journalist, the truth-tellers, the activists who keep this country spiritually safe. We salute you. Truth tellers, everyday heroes. Let’s see our lights, let’s see out starts in the middle of the sky,” he said.

They also paid tribute to the Filipinas who “re-write history” like former president Corazon Aquino, Rappler CEO Maria Ressa, singer Lea Salonga and Senator Pia Cayetano. Their faces were displayed on a massive screen while playing the song “Ultra Violet.”
