According to the report, the National Commission of Muslim Filipinos said they have approached the PHISCOG to remind them that ‘halal’ food must be available for the Muslim guest and athletes. However, the organizers ignored their calls last September.

“We waited for some communications. Wala na po eh. So we assumed na they do it. Mahirap kasi ‘yung singit kami ng singit and they don’t find us important,” said NCMF executive director Tahir Lidasan.

The SEA Games 2019 will start from November 30 to December 11. The torch lighting ceremony will be held at the Philippine Arena in Marilao, Bulacan.
