Kathryn Bernardo Opens Up About the Biggest Challenge of Her TV Comeback
KATHRYN BERNARDO – Actress Kathryn Bernardo is making her long-awaited TV comeback, but the actress revealed that adjusting to her new project took longer than any of her previous roles.
Kathryn Bernardo admitted that returning to television after taking a break from doing series was not an easy transition, sharing that she had to make several adjustments while working on her newest project, Someone, Someday.
During the Netflix press conference attended by the media, the Kapamilya actress opened up about her experience, revealing that this project required the longest adjustment period she has ever had compared to her previous acting assignments.
“Yes, there were a lot of adjustments. Actually, I think this is the longest. Usually kasi, it takes a couple of creative days to warm up and to feel homey concept. But for this one, it took a while,” she revealed.
According to Kathryn, one of the main reasons behind the lengthy adjustment was the fact that it had been quite some time since she last starred in a television series. She explained that working on a TV production is very different from filming movies, making the transition more challenging than she initially expected.
“Maybe because it’s been a while since my last series. And when you say you’re doing a TV series, we all know that it’s a different world ‘di ba pag sa movies,” she explained.
The actress also shared that almost everyone she worked with on the series was new to her, making it necessary to spend more time getting comfortable with both her co-stars and the production team.
“And itong sa serye, siguro new environment for me. It’s my first time working with James, with Ate Maj, with our directors as well,” she said.
Kathryn added that another meaningful aspect of the project was her reunion with Dreamscape, marking her first collaboration with the production unit since Mara Clara over a decade ago.
“And then I’m back with Dreamscape after ‘Mara Clara,’ which was 16 years ago. So ayun nga, ang daming bago,” she shared.
Because of these changes, Kathryn admitted that she not only had to build connections with her new colleagues but also dedicate extra time to understanding the character she would portray.
“So medyo matagal nag-warm up and also to get to know my character,” Kathryn said.
Despite the challenges, the actress emphasized that her overall experience filming Someone, Someday has been a positive one.
The upcoming series stars Kathryn Bernardo and James Reid as Jordan and Billy, two childhood friends whose bond is tested as they face life’s challenges and discover how friendship can gradually turn into love.
Also joining the cast are Maja Salvador and Dimples Romana, under the direction of Chad Vidanes and Dolly Dulu. The series marks another highly anticipated project that brings together a fresh ensemble while showcasing Kathryn’s return to the television drama format after several years away.
