Manny Pacquiao Appeals For Ceasefire On Criticisms, Support PH Teams Instead
MANNY PACQUIAO – Boxing champ Manny Pacquiao urged the public to support the Philippine athletes instead of criticizing SEA Games 2019.
The 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games is hosted by the Philippines from November 30 to December 11, 2019. Pinay beauty queens will be muses during the opening ceremony at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.
There have been several mishaps days before the regional meet. The Thai athletes complained about the ‘poor’ transportation and hotel commodities and the food that was served for the Philippine Women’s football team.
In a previous article, Philippine Southeast Asian Games Committee (PHISGOC) chair Alan Peter Cayetano blamed the senate for the mishaps due to the delay in the approval of the national budget. He also said Franklin Drilon moved the SEA Games 2019 budget to the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).
“It was Senator Drilon who moved the budget of the SEA Games to the PSC and it was Senator Drilon who proposed cutting it by 33%,” Cayetano said.
Recently, fighting senator Manny Pacquiao was asked about his thoughts regarding the SEA Games issues. He said the mess will not help the Philippine athletes for the regional meet. It could distract them from focusing on their games.
“Pag lagi nating pinag-uusapan yan na may mga problema tayo baka malaman ng mga athleta natin, e, baka hindi maka tulong sa kanila,” said Pacquiao.
Manny Pacquiao urged the public to unite and support the Philippine athletes rather than find faults on others.
“Ang panawagan ko po sa ating mga kababayan magkaisa po tayo, suporta-an natin yung mga atleta natin. Kasi ito ang mukha natin, ito ay karangalan nating lahat,” he said.
