Isko Moreno Rejects Activists’ Apology Over Underpass Vandalism

ISKO MORENO – Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Moreno rejected the apology of Panday Sining which defaced the Lagusnilad underpass.

A week ago, the Lagusnilad underpass near the Manila city hall was vandalized by the group Panday Sining. They said it was freedom of expression and let the people be aware of the issues in the country.

The activists’ anti-government vandalism irritated Mayor Isko Moreno. He was very disappointed and warned them if they caught them painting the walls again, he will order them to wipe it off using their tongue.

In a report, Panday Sining apologized for the graffiti while at the same time justified that they just did that to inform their fellowmen about the pressing issue in the country.

“To the public: sorry for the inconvenience, but the matter and issues at hand are urgent. Left and right, ordinary people are being killed or jailed for criticizing this corrupt and fascist government,” the group said.

Based on a report from the Philippine News Agency, the mayor of Manila rejected Panday Sining’s apology. He said the group won’t gain support from people because their way of doing it is unacceptable.

“Humihingi daw kayo ng tawad. Sabi niyo doon sa ano, sa ano ‘yun, Facebook account ninyo… Gusto niyo ng real talk? Hindi kayo dadami. Bakit? Kinamumuhian kayo ng tao eh. Bakit kayo kamumuhian? Tama ang layunin ninyo eh pero mali ang pamamaraan ninyo,” he said.
