Habagat To Affect PH Weather on Eid al-Adha (August 12), PAGASA Says
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon (Habagat) would affect the weather conditions in the country for today (Eid al-Adha).
On Monday (August 12, 2019), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released the latest weather updates in the country.
PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon would continue to affect the country’s weather condition bring cloudy weather condition and a significant weather condition, particularly in the afternoon or evening.
The Habagat would bring cloudy condition with scattered light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over Ilocos, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, and Bataan.
Partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with localized thunderstorms are also expected over the Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Cagayan Valley, Metro Manila, and CALABARZON.
General fair weather condition with the possibility of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening are expected over Palawan and Visayas as well as Mindanao.
Last week, President Rodrigo Duterte has declared August 12 as a regular holiday in the Philippines in observance of Eid al-Adha or the Muslim Feast of Sacrifice.
President Duterte signed Proclamation no. 789 declaring Eid al-Adha as a holiday in line with the Republic Act 9849 considering the two greatest feasts of Islam including Eid‘l Fitr as a regular holiday.
