Earthquake w/ 6.4 Magnitude Hits Southern California & Causes Fires, Damages
EARTHQUAKE – A 6.4 magnitude quake recently hit Southern California and caused damages and fires in the area.
Earthquakes are among the natural incidents that need a great preparation since they often come with no hints at all. Most countries that are lying near the Pacific Ring of Fire are prone to it.
These natural incidents may cause at different intensities. Certain bureaus and government agencies are tasked to record details regarding the quakes including its magnitude, depth, and epicenter.
Recently, a strong quake has hit Southern California.
Based on a recent report on BBC, Southern California was hit by a 6.4 magnitude earthquake. It led to fires and damages in the different areas and shaking was really felt.
The quake was located near the Ridgecrest City, around 150 miles northeast of Los Angeles. According to local geophysicist Professor John Rundle, there were damages in the city caused by the quake.
Based on the report, a number of buildings in the city were on fires and rescue teams and fire engines are out to provide assistance to the affected areas and individuals.
The authorities expressed that another quake may hit the place and the people should prepare.
“This may not be over. There could be more earthquakes happening in the area and anyone listening that’s in that region should be prepared,” California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services spokesman Brad Alexander said.
