Low-Pressure Area Draws Southwest Monsoon Towards PH, PAGASA Says

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area spotted east of Sorsogon is drawing the Southwest Monsoon towards the Philippines.

On Saturday (June 29, 2019), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released the latest weather updates in the country.

PAGASA said that the LPA located 970 kilometers east of Juban, Sorsogon is enhancing the southwest monsoon, which would bring rains over Luzon and Visayas.

Low-Pressure Area

Metro Manila, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Zambales, Bataan, Batangas and Cavite would be affected by the inclement weather condition.

The southwest monsoon would also bring partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the rest of Luzon and Visayas as well as the Zamboanga Peninsula.

The localized thunderstorms would bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rainshowers in Mindanao.

The weather agency warned the public of possible flashfloods and landslides in the affected areas.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition in the western section of Luzon would be moderate to rough.

The remaining parts of the country would have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to the weather bureau.
