LTO Driver’s License Renewal Now Available in Malls Even On Saturdays

LTO DRIVER’S LICENSE RENEWAL – Drivers may now renew their Land Transportation Office (LTO) Driver’s License even on Saturdays through the services offered in shopping malls.

In the Philippines, a huge part of the populace is composed of drivers. Some drive cars for private travel purposes while for others, it is their source of living to cover up their daily expenses.

To be eligible for driving in the country, one needs to obtain a license or a permit from the Land Transportation Office. It is more commonly called as LTO.

For drivers who are below 18 years of age, LTO Student Permits may be issued provided that he or she passed the qualification, complied with the requirements needed, and passed the exams set.

Drivers who are above 18 years old may apply for LTO Driver’s Licence Professional or LTO Driver’s License Non-Professional. The former allows the holder to drive any vehicle.

The permits and license in driving got expiry schedules. That is why once in a while, the driver would have to go for its renewal. Recently, a good news about it crossed the surface.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, LTO Driver’s License Renewal is now available even on Saturdays through the government agency’s offices in shopping malls.

LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante issued a memorandum mandating the DLRO in malls to conduct Saturday services to the public.

“To fully maximize the accessibility and availability of our services to the public in malls, effective June 2019, all DLROs are hereby required to operate and process applications for renewal of driver’s licenses and issue student permits on Saturdays,” he said based on the report.

The LTO has also previously announced a go signal on the renewal of driver’s license two(2) months or sixty(60) days before the expiration date. An appointment should be made online through www.lto.net.ph.
