PAGASA Announces Rainy Season Ends, Warmer Days Expected

The Philippines Is Expected To Experience Warmer Days As Rainy Season Ends, PAGASA Says

The state weather bureau PAGASA announced that the rainy season has officially ended and Filipino people could expect warmer days.

On Saturday (October 6, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) release the latest weather updates in the country for the next few days.

The weather agency reported that the wet season has already ended upon the termination of the southwest monsoon or “Habagat”.

Warmer Days

PAGASA administrator Vicente Malano said that the country could experience less rainfall and warmer days in the upcoming months.

“Recent analyses showed a significant weakening of the southwest monsoon winds over the last few days. With this development, the monsoon season known locally as Habagat has ended,” Malano said quoted by Philstar.

Malano explained that the intensified high-pressure system over the Asian Continent causes the transition of the wind system from Habagat to Amihan.

Warmer Days

The weather bureau said that the northeast monsoon would bring cold weather in the country starting October 2018 to February 2019.
