Not guilty! – Joel Mendez pleaded to malicious complaint against him
Celebrity doctor Joel Mendez plead not guilty to malicious complaint against him filed by two women.
It can be recalled that he was nabbed at the parking lot of his condominium in Mandaluyong City.
The Mandaluyong Intelligence Unit, Tactical Motorcycle Riders, Women and Children’s Police Desk and Mobile Patrol Unit detained him for allegedly raping two women – one was a minor when the incident happened while the other one was 20 years old.
It was said that he molested the minor just days before her debut, according to the revelation of the victim’s relative.
The alleged victims confessed that the incident brought trauma to them.
“Talagang pinush namin na wag siyang mag-focus dun, wag siyang ma-trap dun sa nangyari, mag-move on siya, which is nakatulong naman nang malaki,” the relative of then 17-year-old victim said.
“Nag-freak out na naman siya, parang naalala na naman yung dati. Nakaka-sad, pero nakakatuwa din dahil nahuli na siya,” the mother of the 20-year-old victim shared.
Previously, Joel Mendez also faced Estafa charges for not paying the SSS remittances of his 40 employees.
He was found guilty and sentenced with minimum of six years and one day and a maximum of seven years imprisonment.
The Quezon City Regional Trial Court also ordered him to pay P15, 000.
With the present rape cases against him, Joel Mendez said he is not guilty of doing it.
Based on the article published in ABS-CBN News, he is out on bail and is facing 2 counts of rape and 1 count of attempted rape.
The first alleged victim was his niece who was just 17 years old back in 2016.
The cosmetic surgeon also filed a motion asking the Judge Imelda Portes-Saulog of the Mandaluyong Regional Trial Court branch 214 to inhibit from the case.
Joel Mendez will face the court for the next hearing which is set on September 19, 2018, 2 pm, based on the report.
