According to the report of the Rappler, the chief of the PNP apologized to the families of the drug suspects saying that he knows and understand the feelings brought by the death of a loved one.

“Sa mga pamilya na umaalma, alam kong masakit talaga ‘yan sa pamilya na mamatayan (To the protesting families, I know that it hurts losing a member). We understand your feelings. We are very sorry, we are very sorry for what had happened,” the chief said.

He said this during the celebration of the 116th PNP Service Anniversary in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City of the National Capital Region Police Office.

Dela Rosa issued the apology even though he was not asked to as a response to the questions of the reporters about the Grade 11 student who got killed for allegedly fighting back hence, the testimonies of the witnesses and the record of the CCTV says and shows otherwise.

This said incident’s victim is Kian Loyd Delos Santos and this sparked a public outrage due to some apparent reasons.

Since the launching of the all-out war on drugs of the president, a lot of the families of the drug suspects who have been slain cried foul and denied that their family member fought back.

On the other hand, Dela Rosa said this, I’d rather buhay ‘yung pulis ko kesa patay ‘yung pulis ko.
