NYC Chair Aiza Seguerra Takes Bold Stand On Death Of Kian Loyd Delos Santos

AIZA SEGUERRA – National Youth Commission (NYC) chairman Aiza Seguerra urges the authorities to administer an independent investigation on the untimely death of Kian Delos Santos.

Lately, the death of the Grade 11 student blasted the news and the people of the community were in great despair for the police report and the recording of the CCTV and testimonies of the witnesses of the said incident did not match.

It was on the previous night when this news blasted the national television.

Based on the report of the ABS-CBN News, according to the report submitted by the police officers, when Kian saw the authorities approaching, he resisted and fought.

The victim fired them but missed so an officer “returned fire… hitting the suspect on his body that resulted in his instantaneous death.”

However, the CCTV record which contained the film of the incident showed otherwise and even the testimonies of the witnesses.

And with a youth as a victim, Aiza Seguerra, the chair of the  NYC posted this on his account on Instagram.

The post says, “We are duty bound to respect the rights of the youth.
The National Youth Commission urges the authorities to conduct an independent investigation on the killing of a 17-year-old, Grade 11 male student in the recent drug bust operation in Kalookan City. “We want to curb the drug menace; however, we are alarmed by the deaths and injury of minors in the process,” Usec Aiza Seguerra, NYC Chairperson points out.”

Netizens were in delight for on behalf of the family of the victim, they are also asking for justice for the death of the youth.

One comment told, “Justice for the victim.. we elders should be the one to protect and guide our youth.. they are our future… I hope this case will be solved and not be forgotten. Please have a heart.. for our country and our people.”

Another user of the app also poured out his reaction and stated, “Kudos to you for taking a bold stand on this incident. Regardless of our respective political colors, the deaths of children as collateral damage and/or in the name of ‘war against drugs’ cannot be justified. If we turn a blind eye on the authorities’ excesses, all efforts to make this a better country shall be for naught.”
