The Authorities Gives Conclusion Regarding The Suspect’s Motive Behind Bohol Mayor Gisela Boniel’s Murder
The authorities have already give conclusions regarding the alleged motive of the suspect behind Bohol town mayor Gisela Boniel’s murder.
Earlier, the death of Mayor Gisela Boniel of Bien Unido town in Bohol has been reported and making rounds in the social media. Gisela was reportedly abducted, shot, and her body was dumped into the water.
Angela Leyson, Gisela’s best friend said that the mayor had gone missing since Wednesday morning (June 07, 2017) after she was last spotted at Bien Unido Double Barrier Reef Dive Camp in Bohol where they have been captured.
On Thursday (June 08, 2017), the authorities have already conducted a search operation in the waters off Caubian Island in Lapu-Lapu City, but they failed to found the body of Gisela.
Gisela’s husband who’s also a Bohol Board Member Niño Boniel, his driver Randel Lapas, his cousins Kevin and Reolito “Etad” Boniel have been arrested by the Regional Intelligence Division (RID). Niño told the police that Etad was the one who shot Gisela, but Etad told the reporters that it was really Niño who shot Gisela.
PRO-7 Director Noli Taliño was looking at different angles on their investigation regarding the motive of the killer on killing Gisela. He said that the suspect’s alleged motive could possibly because of money, politics, or extramarital fair.
Taliño also said that they are considering Niño as the primary suspect in his wife’s death. He also cited a witness’ statement that Niño and Gisela were having an exchange of heated argument and shouting at each other.
“Unang-una, identified siya noong primary witness natin na nandoon siya habang nag-aaway yung mag-asawa, then nagsisigawan sila. Nakita yung isang sasakyan na ginagamit ni Board Member Boniel near doon sa diving camp.”
“May lumalabas na impormasyon na itong isa, siya yung nakakita kay board member kaya nagpatong-patong, very obvious na si board member ang mastermind,” said by Taliño quoted by Philstar.
The couple has been married for already 5 years and experienced numerous misunderstandings, especially in money matters. Leyson said that Niño once rants when he knew that his wife bought a watch amounting P2.5 million through a loan.
Leyson also said that Gisela wants an annulment with Niño believing that she was only used by her own husband, who was also an ex-mayor of Bien Unido. Taliño cited the report issued by the Commission on Audit (COA) regarding the Niño’s different discrepancies in government transaction during his term.
The financial problem, family problem, and alleged third-party prompted Gisela to put an end to her marriage with Niño, according to Taliño.
